Auto Hobby Shop is a full-service car repair shop for minor repairs and tune-ups, as well as a do-it-yourself mechanic's playground, with all the bays, lifts, tools and equipment needed to get the project done right. The facility is open to all base personnel and their families. Customers can do minor and major engine repairs, bodywork, oil changes, and more. The shop's knowledgeable staff of mechanics are also available to perform oil changes and other light repairs and up-keep, including brakes, turn rotors, serpentine belts, external water pumps, starters, alternators, struts, shocks, coolant drain and refill, and more. The staff is always happy to offer customers hands-on tutorials for properly maintaining their own vehicle.

Deployed Car Care Service

Deploying? We offer the Deployed Car Care Service for deployed military personnel, providing an option for active duty and reserve members to store their personal vehicles safely and securely during deployment.

 

Services Include:

  • Safe Storage within a secure storage lot
  • Flat tire monitoring and prevention
  • Engine inspection
  • Monthly vehicle checks
  • Driving within secure areas
  • Battery maintenance

Car Basics 101

This class will allow you to get a hands-on experience to the maintenance that is needed for your car. In this class, students will

  • Talk about the importance of car maintenance and the possible problems that can occur from lack of maintenance.
  • Learn how to rotate the tires.
  • Learn how to inspect brakes for wear.
  • For the ones that show interest, we can teach brake replacement.
  • Learn how to change the oil.
  • Learn how to use gears to slow the vehicle down when descending steep hills or mountain downgrades.
  • Explain the check engine lights.
  • Learn how to check the coolant and the oil.
  • Learn how to jump start a car.
  • Learn how to replace the wiper blades.


This class is held the third Thursday of each month from 6 - 7 pm.

Cost is $20/person.
